Royal Enfield, India's leading bikemaker, is getting ready to expand its 450 lineup. The two-wheeler maker has started testing the Royal Enfield Roadster 450 in India. Spy images of the upcoming 450-cc model have been shared on social media. The pictures provide a close look at the new bike’s design, features, mechanicals, and hardware. The test mule gets a sporty look along with flat and wide handlebars, a single-piece seat, a muscular fuel tank, and back-set foot pegs. The motorcycle has a circular headlamp, a short tail section, and a stepped seat.

The Roadster 450 is likely to be powered by the Sherpa 450 engine that is also equipped in the Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle. The 452-cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine churns out 39.47 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The motor also gets a slipper clutch. The two-wheeler giant may alter the engine's tuning to enhance the performance and rideability of the bike. The Roadster will also have an integrated rear brake light and rear turn indicator system, just like the Himalayan 450. The Roadster's short, upswept exhaust system remains identical to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450's unit.

The new motorcycle is expected to come with a fully digital single-pod instrument cluster that packs abundant data. The upcoming model is expected to feature an adjustable monoshock at the back and a telescopic fork up front. For braking duties, it will get a pair of discs supported by twin-channel ABS. The Roadster 450 rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in dual-purpose tyres.

The auto giant is expected to launch the new bike in the coming months. After its launch, the motorcycle will rival the likes of the Triumph Speed 400, Yezdi Roadster, and KTM 390 Duke.
